I don't quite remember what I was doing this time last year, but I certainly wasn't riding tacky trails in balmy weather on the shore.
It was a perfect weekend for riding, and I spent 2 days ripping around and trying out a Giant Reign Sx.
Saturday morning we headed to Seymour bright and early for some laps of the dark side. Dan, Terry, John, Darcy and myself found some awesome all-mountain trails and the Reign rode smooth, light and maneuverable. The jump-trail (not sure if it has any other name) was super fun on the Reign, and aside from a warning from the park service about some prohibited mountain biking activity it was an awesome morning. The trails were so good, we refueled on a bit of coffee and Darcy and I headed out for a third lap with some of his friends.
Sunday I thought I'd try out the Reign on some DH terrain and I headed to the Woodlot with Alex to take advantage of the nice weather. The trails were surprisingly dry and tacky and even the skinnies weren't slick. The Reign handled drops and gaps with ease and felt especially effortless through the loamy switch backs. All in all it was a really fun day and we rolled out of Shot Gun just as the first rain drops were falling.
